a little more about me & what I do...
|
I am a mystic, artist, love warrior, writer, and independent creative based out of Northern CT. I create things and experiences that help you find empowerment, embodiment, and liberation. In order to this, I also work daily to maintain a vipassanic way of life which grounds and connects me so that I may hold an open-heart and mind for all those who need it.
I intuitively type poems, creating keepsake pieces of art and personal touchstones that are ready to gift, frame, and treasure. I also create many different products, from divination tools to illustrated goods, and have been self-publishing artist's books, zines, and chapbooks under my one-woman small-press imprint Rattfink Press for over 15 years. 
While I am currently not booking in-person events or fairs (the current world is an overwhelming place for a sensitive, neuro-divergent love warrior like me), pre-covid much of my time was spent selling at fairs, working events big and small, and bringing my Typewriter Poetry Experience to unexpected places. Since moving back to Connecticut from Arizona in 2018, I have worked with many of the area's premier cultural institutions in various capacities - as performer, vendor, consultant, guest artist, and more.
Some of those hubs of heritage and culture I have been fortunate to work with are: The Wadsworth Atheneum, The CT Science Center, The New Britain Museum of American Art, Old New-Gate Prison & Copper Mine, TheatreWorks Hartford (to name a few favorites). |
In the post-covid world, I have started offering digital poetry sessions - a way to sit face to face, one on when, even when far away - so that we may -together- tap into the akashic cords that bind us, through conversation and energetic exchange, in order for me to write the poem, or poems, you need to read. As always, these poems are typed onto the illustrated poetry art card of your choosing, and you will receive the original and only hard copy of your poem in a special package in the mail.
In response to the big conversations that we are all having these days, I have also started offering One Conversation, One Poem sessions - a safe space wherein a group of people can come together and hash out whatever is currently on the table in a facilitated conversation that results in a poem that aims to connect the dots that you all have laid down. This poem then serves to further the discussion as you work together to unpack its metaphors and meanings, allowing a creative and critical discourse that is essential to productive and progressive action. And, because we all need to have FUN these days, I have started hosting Typewriter Poetry Parties - a chance for a group of your friends or family switch up your regular old zoom dates with the joy and power of poetry! Watch as your friends/family request and receive their poem from me, and then let them watch as you get yours! This is a great opportunity to learn more about each other while also gifting yourselves a one-of-a-kind memory and poetic keepsake and touchstone, created just for and with you.
