i glanced askew and time took me -- when i fell asleep i was sweating and the night took me of my dewiness - craning my neck to find the sweet spot of my pillow -- i went down for you and you barely even knew it my rings were off and they knew it -- when the ground becomes wet there will be a moment to listen, but for now i will put them back on my fingers and try to comb them through my hair. 3.
when it stopped glistening i started to run. lifetimes are slower than that moment was -- there are panthers who have never seen a cheetah or a lightning bolt run faster than i did that night. the dripping had ceased and so i left it there, almost rotting. it had been a long night but not the kind you can't remember -- it had been the first night that had started me to forget. |

back to atlantis is where she said we were going -- there was a white quality to the beach that i hadn't seen before & i swear when i got off the plane she looked so fucking much like a dolphin -- the ocean is wide and voluminous like the space between us at times and when we arrived to the side of the earth and the water i lost her -- when she was gone i found myself looking for seashells as if that would replace her -- i still have them though they're a bit dusty now. |
